Catherine's story is more than a narrative about the making of a particular movie of a particular book. It is the personal history of a woman whose dreams and heartaches also illuminate the cultural and political history of the past 60 years -- full of fascinating and compelling incidents that span the LBJ White House, the 1968 Democratic Convention, Norman Lear's television empire of the 1970s, and Hollywood more recently.
